Dr. Bobby Campbell
Since 2002, Dr. Bobby Campbell has been providing orthodontic care for
children and adults in Wilmington, NC. In the early nineties he
attended Dickinson College where he played “small time” college
football and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry.
He graduated from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry,
which has the prestige and honor of being the “world’s first dental
college.” He then completed a thirty month orthodontic specialty
training program at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta,
Georgia.

Dr. Thomas Covington
A native to the North Carolina coast, Dr. Thomas Covington grew up in
Hampstead, NC, and on the beaches of Topsail Island. He pursued his
undergraduate education at UNC Chapel Hill, where he earned a Bachelor
of Science degree in Clinical Sciences. Dr. Covington then attended
the UNC School of Dentistry where he earned his Doctor of Dental
Surgery degree. He was the recipient of the Alpha Omega Award for
graduating first in his dental school class. He remained at UNC for
his specialty training in orthodontics, where he received the Andrew
McArthur Brooks Fellowship, and earned a Master of Science in
Orthodontics at one of the most well respected orthodontic programs in
the world.

Dr. Logan Icenhour
Dr. Logan Icenhour grew up in Greensboro, NC. He attended UNC at
Chapel Hill where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology
with highest distinction. Dr. Icenhour remained in Chapel Hill for the
next four years where he graduated with honors, earning his Doctorate
in Dental Surgery at the UNC School of Dentistry. He was inducted into
Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU), a national dental honor society, for
excellent scholarly achievement and demonstration of a strong
professional ethics. More recently, Dr. Icenhour pursued his
postdoctoral orthodontic training at the University of Alabama
Birmingham where he graduated with a Master of Science in
Orthodontics.

What kind of braces do you offer?
At Campbell & Covington Orthodontics, we offer traditional metal braces, clear ceramic braces, and clear aligners.
How often will I need to come in for appointments?
Most patients come in for routine visits about every 6-10 weeks depending on the treatment case.
Do braces hurt?
At our office, we make your orthodontic experience as comfortable as possible. Although braces do take some getting used to, you may experience mild discomfort and general soreness for a few days after getting your braces on. At your appointment we will discuss ways to stay comfortable while getting used to your braces.
What's the average treatment time?
Most cases range between 12-24 months. It is important to know that your mouth is unique, so length of treatment varies from person to person. We will let you know the estimated time it will take to complete your orthodontic treatment at your complimentary consultation.
How do I get started?

Braces
Braces
Unlike conventional braces, the Damon System uses gentle forces designed to protect the health of your teeth and gums while in treatment. Damon brackets are self-ligating (a door mechanism exists within each bracket to lightly secure the wire) and results in a passive slide. This means the elastics used in traditional braces are not required. Colored ties are still available, however, for patients that may want them as a fun decoration.
Clear Braces
Clear Braces
We also offer clear brackets, known as Damon Clear. These brackets are made of ceramic and are transparent.
One advantage of Damon Clear is that they are virtually invisible. This is because there are no metal clips or elastic ties.
Clear Aligners
Clear Aligners
Clear aligners are a popular choice for anyone interested in improving their smile without drawing attention to the fact that they’re in treatment. With clear aligners you can brush and floss your teeth regularly and remove aligners to eat meals and snacks. Aligners should be worn for 22 hours per day. When it comes to clear aligners, we have options. During your comprehensive exam we will determine which type will be best for your smile.
Spark
Clear aligners from Spark are made with innovative TruGEN™ material. This material makes the aligners comfortable, clearer, and less likely to stain. Depending on your case, TruGEN™ can offer more advanced and sustained force retention and better contact with the surface area of your tooth. Using a series of clear aligners custom-made just for you, we’ll position your teeth into the desired position. Each set of aligners last for about 7 days, until your treatment is completed, and your desired smile achieved.
Early Interceptive Treatment
Early Interceptive Treatment
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that every child be evaluated between the ages of 6 and 8 years old. At that early age, it’s possible to determine if there are issues related to the child’s growth or tooth positions that should be addressed sooner rather than later. Early, interceptive treatment like braces for kids can be recommended to correct crossbites, underbites, extreme crowding, impacted permanent teeth, under or over developed jaws that affect the profile and bite, and constricted airways.
With early orthodontic treatment, we can take a less invasive, preventative approach. Addressing development concerns while the bones are growing gives us the ability to avoid more invasive approaches (such as jaw surgery) in the future.

Dr. Campbell and his wife, Holly, met in junior high, were “high school sweethearts,” and have been married since 1996. They have one daughter, Sydney, who keeps them on the move with dancing, tennis, guitar playing, and, of course, playing in the ocean. Like most Wilmingtonians, the Campbells enjoy the salty air of the coastal environment. When they are away from the office, you will likely find them enjoying some family time near the water, attending Port City Community Church and maybe even squeezing in a round of golf. Dr. Campbell also enjoys snow skiing in the winter months.

Dr. Covington met his wife, Laura, while they were both in college at UNC. Both he and Laura have a passion for the outdoors, traveling, and cheering on the Tar Heels. They have three beautiful children: a son (Carr) and two daughters (Ella and Madeline). Dr. Covington and his family love the Wilmington community and are members of First Presbyterian Church. When Dr. Covington isn’t practicing orthodontics, you’ll probably find him surfing, fishing, or exploring the intracoastal waterway.

Dr. Logan Icenhour
About

Dr. Icenhour is recently engaged to his fiancé, Kristen, who is a Wrightsville Beach native. Both attended UNC at Chapel Hill where they met during their college years. It did not take long for Kristen to convince Dr. Icenhour of Wilmington’s beauty. The two share a passion for the outdoors, friends and family, and sports (Go Heels!). As they start their lives together in Wilmington, they look forward to finding a church home and getting involved in the community. In his time away from work, you will likely find Dr. Icenhour running the loop, navigating the Intracoastal Waterway, or playing a round of golf.
